Founding Story

Zanskar was born in the field — out of a shared obsession for unlocking what lies beneath.

Co-founders Carl Hoiland and Joel Edwards had seen the limits of traditional geothermal exploration and development. It was slow. Expensive. And it kept missing the real opportunities.

So they built something different. Something faster, smarter, and deeply rooted in science.

They named the company after the Zanskar range in the Himalayas — where expedition and geology collide — and set out to change how the world finds and fuels clean energy.
